When to see the sea of clouds (and when to wake up)
Five cool seasons of watching the fog from our deck, boiled down to which months give you the best chance.

The question we hear most is “will we see the sea of clouds?” Honestly, nobody can promise it — but we can tell you when the odds are good.
The best months
Late November to early February, after a clear, still night that followed a humid day. The fog usually sits below the houses from about 5:30 to 8 am.
The rains have fog too
From July to September it's rain mist drifting through the garden — a different, greener mood, fewer guests and lower prices.
Small tips
Set an alarm for 5:45 and peek through the curtains. If you can see the treetops clearly, the fog hasn't come yet — sleep another half hour. The drip coffee in your room helps.
